Job Description
Leads advanced engineering suspension design on concept proposals for programs.
Leads advanced engineering suspension and steering engineers in conceptualizing suspension systems that meet all vehicles requirements (NVH, SAFETY, RIDE, DURABILITY, WEIGHT, COST, etc), and program attributes.
Leads vehicle development engineer in developing of K and C parameters and ride performance attributes on programs.
Ensure defined gateway objective are complied with and that a plan is developed for each outstanding deviation.
Ensure analytical engineering for vehicle attributes and homologation requirements are theoretically achievable through analysis.
Ensure all derivative of the same class of vehicle to use architecture can be flexed to meet each program.
Liaise with advanced manufacturing in terms of assy / process definition and capability.
Maintain attribute status and engineering sign-off documentation for vehicle attributes.
Guide development engineers through trade-off and issue resolution of vehicle dev attributes.
Review the supplier technical offerings in terms of performance, package, and technical support standpoint.
Review attribute requirements with vehicle development project engineers.
Guide vehicle design/development engineers in the logic/rationale of the KO concept.
Ensure vehicle development attribute involvement in package/design planning.
Utilize vehicle development attribute benchmarking data for target assessment.
Coach and mentor engineering team with the common architecture philosophy, consistent understanding of the department
Research, evaluate and standardise analytical development methodologies and tools.
