Job Description
Ability to do finite element modelling of Vehicle components and Systems.
Ability to assign thickness and material properties to components
Ability to build finite element assemblies for Vehicle structure. Should have good understanding of different types of connections like spot and seam welding.
Ability to apply loads and Boundary conditions required for linear and nonlinear Static analysis.
Ability to carry out Modal, frequency response and transient analysis for vehicle components and systems.
Ability to do Fatigue life estimation for Vehicle structure, Spot and seam welds.
Ability to postprocess results, make reports and present results to design team.
Ability to recommend design modifications to meet acceptance criteria based on analysis results, manufacturing and packaging constraints.
(1) Should have good knowledge of Vehicle systems
(2) Should have good fundamentals - Strength of materials, Applied mechanics and Finite element methods

Automotive Systems

Knowledge of different tests for Vehicle systems and test instrumentations.
Correlation of CAE results with physical test results.
Experience
The ideal candidate for the Lead Engineer - CAE position should have between 6 to 9 years of experience in the field. You should be well-versed in meshing tools such as Hypermesh and SIMLAB, solvers like Nastran, Abaqus, and Ansys, post-processing software such as Hyperview, and FEMFAT for fatigue analysis.
Industry Preferred
The Automotive industry is highly preferred for this role, given the focus on vehicle components, systems, and structural analysis. Experience within the automotive sector will be beneficial in understanding the intricate design and analysis requirements specific to vehicle engineering.
Qualifications
To qualify as a Lead Engineer - CAE, you should hold a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Technology with a specialization in Machine Design. This educational background will equip you with the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to excel in this role.
