Production Software Engineering - Team charter
Be the on-call engineering interface to Amagi Operations L2 team
Analyse issues reported on production systems
Provide hot patches / workarounds / bug fixes for production systems
Get hot patches/fixes reviewed merged by L4 team into mainstream releases
Reproduce ( possibly fix) issues reported by QA.
Preserve code hygiene, test coverage, application security (SOC2)
Help L2 teams with software upgrade readiness reviews (correctness of settings.yml, k8s configs / helm charts etc)
Build tools / automate SOPs for PSE L2 use
Track report production system software health metrics
Provide actionable statistical insights to the rest of the engineering teams and product management teams, for improving production software quality
Job description
The members of this team are expected to be comfortable with one or more Cloudport Automation related technologies such as Ruby On Rails, ReactJS, Golang, Python, MySQL, Linux, k8s, AWS, GCP.
The entire team shall have a working knowledge of CP Automation internals. Specific members of the team shall have specialised focus / expertise in subsystems such as playlist media library, UI and CP-Live automation/workflows. PSE Lead will be responsible for the SLAs of the team.
This team will run a 24/7 on-call roster with everyone (including the Lead) taking fortnightly turns. This team will be trained and supported by the automation feature development team continuously, to discharge their PSE responsibilities well. It is with this intent that the PSE Lead reports into the Automation Engineering Manager.
