Job Description
Financial Reporting Analysis
Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, profit loss accounts, and cash flow statements.
Ensure all financial reports comply with applicable standards, such as IFRS or GAAP.
Conduct variance analysis and provide insightful commentary on financial results.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Month-End and Year-End Closures
Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes.
Ensure all journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations are accurate and completed on time.
Prepare and review general ledger reconciliations.
Compliance Audits
Ensure compliance with local tax laws, regulations, and corporate policies.
Prepare tax returns (e.g., GST, VAT, TDS, and Income Tax) and ensure timely filing.
Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring all audit queries are addressed promptly.
Accounts Payable/Receivable Management
Oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
Monitor vendor payments, and ensure proper approval and timely payments.
Manage and optimize collections from clients, ensuring invoices are generated and followed up.
Team Leadership Development
Supervise and mentor a small team of junior accountants or accounts executives.
Delegate tasks, monitor performance, and provide training to enhance team capabilities.
Internal Controls Risk Management
Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
Identify risks and implement measures to mitigate financial risks.
Banking and Treasury Operations
Manage bank reconciliations, monitor bank balances, and ensure liquidity for operations.
Liaise with banks for financing arrangements, loan processing, and day-to-day banking requirements.
Process Improvement
Continuously seek ways to improve accounting processes and enhance the efficiency of financial operations.
Propose and implement automation tools or software to streamline accounting tasks.
Financial Support to Management
Provide financial analysis and reports to senior management to support decision-making.
Assist with special projects as needed, including financial modelling and cost-benefit analysis for business opportunities.Role responsibilities
