Job Description Field Officer Position Overview As a Field Officer, your primary responsibility will be to facilitate the connection between Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in rural villages to drive sales of agricultural products. You will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between these groups, fostering collaboration, and ensuring sustainable growth in agricultural sales within the designated region. Key Responsibilities Facilitate Collaboration Act as a liaison between FPOs, SHGs, and other stakeholders involved in agricultural activities. Coordinate meetings, workshops, and training sessions to foster communication and collaboration. Market Development Identify market opportunities for agricultural products produced by FPOs and SHGs. Develop strategies to penetrate new markets and increase sales volumes. Sales and Distribution Implement effective sales strategies to promote agricultural products. Manage distribution channels, logistics, and ensure timely delivery of products to customers. Capacity Building Conduct training programs for members of FPOs and SHGs to enhance their skills in marketing, product packaging, quality control, and financial management. Monitoring and Evaluation Monitor sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities. Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing strategies and propose improvements as needed. Relationship Management Build strong relationships with key stakeholders including farmers, cooperative societies, government agencies, and financial institutions to support the growth of agricultural sales. Compliance and Reporting Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies. Prepare regular reports on sales activities, market trends, and achievements. Qualifications and Skills Educational Background Bachelors degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master s degree is preferred. Experience Proven experience in agricultural sales, marketing, or business development roles. Familiarity with rural markets and community-based organizations is highly desirable. Skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts. Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis. Leadership and team-building capabilities. Proficiency in local languages and dialects is advantageous. Working Conditions This position requires frequent travel to rural villages and remote locations.
