Job Description
Candidates may be placed in either the Mechanical or Chemical Laboratory. The job duties below will vary based on placement.
Chemical Laboratory
Prepare samples for chemical analysis
Operate carbon-sulfur infrared absorption determinators
Operate thermal conductivity nitrogen determinators
Conduct optical emission and x-ray spectrometers
Run samples and standards for SPC plotting
Perform other laboratory duties as needed
Mechanical Laboratory
Collect samples from in-plant and out-plant locations
Accurately record samples into the computer database
Use a shear or press to process samples
Perform hardness or surface texture testing
Perform other laboratory duties as needed
Qualifications
Associate s of Applied Science in a technical field, such as chemistry, or engineering
Experience is preferred
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
